Using an Innovations knitting machine with minimal swearing...

While I have my machine out this morning, I thought I'd share a couple of my thoughts on how to make it behave better. I was tired of longer knitted projects getting twisted up, then dropping stitches, so I took apart an old lazy susan spice rack from the thrift store, keeping the spinny bottom part, and I keep that under my machine now. It is a huge help. Any turntable that will fit under your machine will work.

Another huge problem with the Innovations that makes people give up and want to hurl it off a cliff is its tendency to skitter and move around while you are cranking it. And yes, this makes it drop stitches too. A piece of shelf liner--the grippy rubber kind--will keep your machine from running away.

I have always wondered how those machines worked. Whether they were any good or not.
